Having a family is probably one of the most important things to everyone in the world today. In the famous novel, Rule of the swot, Russell Banks shows us the manner of a young teenage boy who goes finished struggles and conflicts to scratch the family that he al substances wanted but never had. Bone is a fourteen year old boy living in the streets of New York in search for a family of his own. Growing up with an alcoholic mother and an abusive step-father was non his idea of a happy family. Bone and his takeoff rocket Russ decide to find a place to stay when they rival some biker guys. Bone becomes admirers with them and ends up living with them also. (Banks 25-58). After some conviction hi s family with the biker guys comes to an end! and Bone is on the search again for a family. He finds a Jamaican man who he becomes shut to and becomes his new family. (Banks 151). He travels to Jamaica with him and starts to perk up how to be Jamaican by growing dreadlocks and learning to piss Jamaican food. Bone sincerely begins to feel like he has found someone who cares about him and can have a happy family with.
